Condolence From: Munro Family
Condolence: My sincere condolences on your great loss of Harland. The God of tender mercies, Jehovah, surely knows how deep our hurt is when we lose a loved one because he cares for us, not wanting us to ever experience any kind of pain. Looking to God for help to find peace and comfort during this grievous times has proven to bring solace to many. Some have shown great trust and confidence in God by turning to him and expressing themselves openly as Psalm 25:16, 17 says “Turn your face to me and show me favor, for I am alone and helpless. The distresses of my heart have multiplied. Free me from my anguish.” May the prayers of others also help to bring you strength, comfort and courage each day.

Condolence: Although it has been many years since I last saw Harland, he left an impression that will last a lifetime. I first met Harland in 1976 when I joined the Maine Emergency Medical Services Statewide Project staff and he was a liaison to the staff on transportation and highway safety issues. His clear focus and analytical mind bailed me out of many a jam! As much as I came to appreciate his professional abilities, I valued the friendship that developed out of that.

I have yet to learn whether the story is true, but I was told that Harland had been a contestant and a semi-finalist on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts; due to a family issue, he was unable to appear on the final program and lost out to Vic Damone. True or not, I will always believe that it was because it sounds like Harland. Rest in peace, my friend.

Condolence:
Harland, my dearest husband, I have loved you from our 1st meeting in 1953 and continued to love you silently for all the years inbetween when I did not have that right. I know you loved me too, and I thank God for the six years He gave us to be together as husband and wife in our later years. I wanted more, but I am so grateful for what we had. Rest In Peace my beloved, rest in peace.

Condolence: Harland came into my life Tuesday August 10, 1993...the day I learned my biological sister's name as well as the name of her parents. I am so very thankful that my sister's father embraced and accepted us. Harland welcomed us into his life and family. Harland joined us on camping trips; he sat by the fire at night, played his guitar and we all sang along. Harland was feisty, enjoyed his motorcycle and four-wheeler. He'd invite me to jump on the back and we'd tool around his much-loved property in Vassalboro. Harland had many friends, loved to shoot the breeze with them and always had funny stories to share. My sister was blessed to call Harland "Dad" and I'm thankful for all that he brought to my life, too. You'll be missed, Harland. Rest in peace. Jacki, you've always made your Dad proud; I hope warm memories comfort you. Much love.
