GEOFFREY N. BROWN
CAMDEN……………..Geoffrey Norman Brown, 72, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Born in Paterson, New Jersey on November 14, 1944, he was the son of Norman Sterling and Carol Edna (Fitzsimmons) Brown. Geoffrey was educated in Fair Lawn, New Jersey; received his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree at Bethany College, Bethany, WV; and his Master’s in Pre-Columbian Art at Ohio University.
His employment included teaching in the public school system in West Virginia; held a management position with First Energy Corp in New Jersey; and recently State of Maine Dept. of Labor.
An accomplished photographer, he enjoyed sailing, gardening and architecture. Kind-hearted, outgoing, with a great sense of humor, he was the consummate “Big Brother”, and will be remembered by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite “Bunny” Brown of Camden; children, Duncan M. Brown and his wife, Sarah of Waltham, MA; David M. Brown and his wife, Danielle of Pine Beach, NJ; Christopher D. Nurick of Camden; Brian G. Nurick and his wife Cameron of Lexington, KY; sister, Robin Guist and her husband, Gordon of Camden; six grandchildren, Georgia, Zoey, Rory and Max Brown, Parker and Chase Nurick; and one nephew, Geoffrey Guist of Swanville.
Private services for family and close friends were held at the Long Funeral Home in Camden. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to Camden Area Food Pantry, P.O.
