A beautiful soul.

Marjorie Kelly was a wonderful woman. Growing up she always made me smile, and was an active member of Chestnut Street Baptist Church - Camden, Maine. I often remember shaking her hand every Sunday morning and giving her a big hug. Id often tell her I loved her and she'd say the same. I remember she would always tell me to be good and do my chores. She would give me a Werther's candy to have during church. I always made her smile, and she always made me smile as well. She made a lot of people smile. She was good friends with my great grandmother and knew my whole family. She spent lunch-ins with us sitting across from us and talking about endless topics. She was an amazing woman. While working at Quarry Hill I'd often go up to her and give her a hug. I knew she didn't remember me often, but when she did it lit up my face. Strawberry ice cream was her favorite. I remember before serving dinner one night she was out to her normal dinner table very early. I had finished my prep work for dinner service and I went over and sat down with her. I got her a cup of cranberry-orange juice and held her hand for quite sometime. The warmth of her hand made me feel content and safe. I'd hope it had done the same for her. We sat tossing around a purple squishy ball, one that you would get at Walmart for an hour or so. She smiled the biggest smile she could, and I smiled too. Her eyes danced to the purple ball as the squishy spikes hit her hand, and she watched it as it hit mine. She was excited, I could see it in her face. She was alert, and open for the ball each time. It was the most recent memory I have with her and I will never forget it. I will always remember Marjorie and her favorite pinkish colored sweater she was always wearing while sitting out at the dinner table watching me prep salads and deserts waiting her turn patiently. She lived a long life of 93 years. She made those around her smile. Marjorie was a wonderful woman, and will truly be missed by those that knew her. She was a blessing to all. Rest peacefully Marjorie, and know you will never be forgotten. I love you.
