The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Alan Johnson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

a fine Grandfather

I was always grateful that Alan treated my kids like they were his own grand kids (son of second wife, Mary Burgess). When my kids were little we made trips to Maine and my son and daughter always had a great time with Grampie. My daughter went day hiking twice with just the three of us, and my son got to ride the tractor and go to different places around Camden. Grampie and my mother also came to visit us in Washington state on a few occasions and those outings were also memorable. Of special note is the last time my daughter was in Maine at 8 years old. Grampie would spent literally hours playing cards with her. My children never knew of Alan as anyone else but Grampie and I will be eternally grateful for this.
