Obituary for Rosemary Ellard Vogt

ROSEMARY E. VOGT
ROCKPORT………………..Rosemary (Ellard) Vogt, 90 of Rockport, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2017 at Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden.
Rosemary was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, the eighth child of Agnes (Painton) and George Oliver Ellard. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1945 and married Paul A. Vogt in 1950. Rosemary and Paul settled in Stoneham, Massachusetts and raised their family. Rosemary worked for many years at All Saints Episcopal Church in Stoneham until their retirement to Maine in 1987.
Shortly after moving to Maine, Rosemary began working and volunteering at the Farnsworth Art Museum. Rosemary enjoyed greeting guests at the Farnsworth where she met many wonderful friends and staff members. Rosemary enjoyed working by her dear friend Mary Sesak as a volunteer assistant in marketing maintaining museum archives and continued her volunteer work until she was 87.
Rosemary loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed one of their sporting or school events. She was an amazing baker and always arrived with a delicious cake or pie for every birthday and holiday. Up until the time of her death, she was interested in getting outside to play a round of golf.
Rosemary was the beloved wife of 64 years of the late Paul Arthur Vogt and loving mother of Nancy Ingraham and her husband, Mark, and the late Paul Vogt, Jr. and his wife, Christine Larch. Rosemary is survived by her sister, Marguerite East of Florida, grandchildren, Emily, Leah and Miles Ingraham and Kagan and Kira Vogt as well as many nieces and nephews. Rosemary also leaves behind the amazing staff at Quarry Hill in Camden who she considered her family over the last two and a half years.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Seaview Cemetery in Rockport, Maine. If desired, memorial gifts may be made in her memory to Quarry Hill Retirement Community’s Activity Fund in Camden, Maine or The Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine.
