NORMA L. GREENROSE
WEST ROCKPORT............Norma L. Greenrose, 74, widow of Oscar A. Greenrose, died on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in West Rockport on January 19, 1943, she was the daughter of Edwin Sydney and Charlotte Virginia (Lane) Lermond. She attended school in Rockport and Camden.
In 1960, she married the lover of her life, Oscar A. Greenrose at the Simonton Corner Hall in Rockport. Oscar as a caretaker and Norma as a housekeeper and caterer, worked for local families in Rockport and Camden. She enjoyed harvesting blueberries on land that had been in her family since 1912. With her outgoing personality, she loved entertaining, listening to music with family and friends. An avid shopper, Norma was always willing to make a quick trip to the grocery store into an all-day adventure when given the opportunity. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening. The family enjoyed many great times boating on Megunticook Lake.
Norma moved to Anderson Inn in Camden were she received compassionate and loving care. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many caregivers there as well as Jennifer Dreher, FNP.
Predeceased by her husband, Oscar A. Greenrose who died in 1991, a brother-in-law, Reino Greenrose and a sister-in-law, Vera Greenrose Townsend, she is survived by two children, Edwin Greenrose and his wife, Carmen of Warren, Sonia Mazzeo and her husband Emilo “David”; five grandchildren, Tracey Heald and her husband, Nick, of Rockport, Jessica Willis of Union, Thomas Miller of NY, Issac Greenrose and Alex Greenrose, both of Union; great-grandchildren, Nicky, Shawn, Isiah, Aiden, Emma-Rose; cousins including Diane Hannon and Patsy Crabtree.
Calling hours will be held 4-6, Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain Street, Camden. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the West Rockport Cemetery.
