Obituary for Robert Young
ROBERT M. YOUNG
ELLSWORTH…………….Robert Michael Young, 69, of Ellsworth, died on October 19, 2016 at Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth. Born in Lewiston on January 27, 1947, he was the son of John Leslie and Rita Maxine (Roberts) Young. He had lived previously in Warren, Camden in Rockland before moving to Ellsworth.
While living in Rockland, Bob enjoyed working at Shop ‘n Save in Rockland for ten years.
A resident of Birchwood Living Center in Ellsworth for the past several years, Bob looked forward to going shopping, watching movies, and other activities. At Birchwood, he was much appreciated by the caregivers for his sense of humor and for his outgoing personality.
Bob looked forward to participating in the Maine Special Olympics each year where he was thrilled in receiving many medals and awards. Several years ago, he was treated to a ride in his favorite car, a red Chevy Corvette.
Surviving are two brothers, William Young (Geneva) of Florida; Richard Young (Pam) of Milford; a sister, Judy Lahey of Rockland; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James Young, and a brother-in-law, Tony Lahey.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM, Friday, November 11, 2016 at the East Lamoine Cemetery, 368 Lamoine Beach Road, Lamoine.
