Obituary for Dorothea Pinkham Young

DOROTHEA YOUNG
CAMDEN………………………….Dorothea Young passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons early Wednesday morning of March 3, 2016. Dorothea was born in Bar Harbor on November 22, 1928, and moved to Camden as a teenager. Dot graduated from Camden High School, Class of 1947 and married Aubrey Young later that year.
She was employed at Boynton-McKay Drug Store in Camden for many years, before and after the birth of sons, Craig and Stuart.
Dot was a member of the Camden Women’s Club; a volunteer with the Camden Community Hospital, Camden Y.M.C.A.; and the Camden Snow Bowl. She was very involved in activities with her sons and nephews.
Dorothea and Aubrey enjoyed time with their sons, grandchildren Erin, Andrew, and William; and great-grandchildren Takoda and Tiras, and friends.
Dot had great memories of the many good times and laughter with “the girls”.
Predeceased by her husband, Aubrey, her parents, and brother, Donald Dyment; she leaves behind her two sons, Craig and his wife, Silvia of Turner, Stuart of Camden; her grandchildren, Erin Mower and husband, Matthew of Brunswick; Andrew Young of Bel Air, MD; and William Young of Boston, MA; great-grandsons, Takoda and Tiras Mower of Brunswick; her sister, Jeanette Tolson of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law Betty Dyment of Burketteville; Patricia Ayers of Camden; and Anne Ayers of Union; brother-in-law George Ayers and his wife, Ruth of Gorham; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many family friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the caretakers of Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care & Hospice, Clearbrook Senior Care, and the Sussman House who have provided professional support over the years.
A graveside service will be announced in May to be held the Oak Hill Cemetery in Camden.
