Condolence From: Bob Gormly
Condolence: Judy, please accept Becky and my sincere condolences. Tom was a special person and warrior. He was the CO of ST-2 when I arrived in 1966 and challenged me daily. I respected his hands-on leadership and his dogged determination to always do what was right. He was a great friend, role model and mentor to me. Rest in peace teammate.

Condolence: What a leader and innovator NAVSPECWAR had in Tom! While proudly a Navy man, he saw the future was likely to be in joint special operations. He made the force much more ready for USSOCOM's advent than it otherwise would have been. He judged that SEALs would head USSOCOM, and saw it come to pass. A consummate professional officer, Tom was also the best of company.
Judy, May your great memories of Tom ease the pain of your loss.

Condolence: Judy and family, my heartfelt sympathy to you during this difficult time. You may not remember me but you and Tom were so instrumental in helping me and husband Al get settled in Little Creek when we came from ST1 in Coronado. He was a wonderful man and one of the best leaders I met in the Teams. Love and prayers.

Condolence: Tom was a couple of classes behind me in UDT training in the 50s and although I never worked directly with him or met him more than a couple of times, he and his detachment relieved our detachment at the time of "Lebanon intervention" in the Mediterranean in 1958. He was always spoken of in the best of terms by people who served with him in UDT. I talked with him a couple of years ago to get his take on UDTs role in the landing in Lebanon and he was giving and gracious.

Condolence: Mrs Tarbox, my thoughts are with you as i met Tommy @ ST2 and he and Rudy were a pair. At the reunions on the East Coast it was always great just to give him a nod i am sure he and Marge are now planing what ever they may in anticipation of when you guys meet again, again sorry for your loss. If you guys have a committal service here in ME give me a holler as i live near Houlton, go to Togus a lot for medical stuff and maybe I could plan to attend to see Tommy off.

Condolence: I am very sorry to hear this news about Tom. I knew him in the Navy as a fellow trainee during UDT Basic Training in early 1958 in Little Creek, Va and Roosevelt Roads, PR. For a time we were swim buddies on some of those long training swims on the PR coastline. We shared housing in VA Beach with other UDT officers in the 1958-1960 period. He was a solid guy and we will miss him.

Condolence: Judith, I was so saddened to hear about Tom's passing. He was greatly respected by all who knew him. Dave often spoke fondly of Tom. I know only too well what you are enduring at this most difficult time having lost my Dave five years ago. You and your family will most certainly be in my prayers and thoughts.
My sincerest condolences, Barbra Wilbourne
